SCOOP’S ‘MAGICAL EDITION’ DELIVERS A WHIMSICAL, HIGH-ENERGY FINALE

Scoop drew to a successful close at Olympia National on Tuesday 15th July 2025, wrapping up three inspiring days of fashion, creativity, and connection.

The July show, ‘The Magical Edition’, lived up to its name, delivering a whimsical and carefully curated showcase of over 200 premium, contemporary designer collections and drawing an enthusiastic crowd of prestigious fashion buyers and retailers. AATCC

The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) has launched a new test method, TM217-2025, Liquid Moisture Management: Vertical and Horizontal Wicking -- Image Analysis.

The method was developed to support improved understanding of liquid wicking and moisture transport in textile fabrics, aligning with advancements in imaging-based instrumentation. It was created in consultation with textile test instrument designer and manufacturer, James Heal.

The Portuguese Textile and Apparel Association (ATP) is promoting the national textile industry at Expo 2025 Osaka with the installation TEXTILE LIVE – Draping with Sustainable Materials, made in Portugal, featured in the Portugal Pavilion under the theme Ocean, The Blue Dialogue.

This international initiative celebrates innovation, environmental responsibility, and the heritage of the Portuguese textile and clothing industry, highlighting materials and processes developed in Portugal that respect ecosystems and place sustainability at the heart of creative practice.

Strengthening cotton’s position within the textile sector was the central topic of the 2025 edition of the Research Associates Program (RAP), organised by the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC).
Aimed at researchers and experts from around the world who are focused on cotton growing and sustainability, Brazil was represented in the program by the Brazilian Cotton Growers Association (Abrapa), through the Cotton Brazil program.Abrapa’s Sustainability Manager, Fabio Carneiro, participated in the meeting, which was held from April 7th to 11th in Tennessee (USA). He explains that, in addition to the presence of a diverse range of cotton producing countries, the event was notable due to ICAC’s strategic alignment as one of the most representative organizations in the global cotton industry.
