We have long strived to regulate the authentication industry. Years ago, we even established a hologram image register—well ahead of its time. By 2014, we realized that our work extended beyond holograms; we were offering authentication solutions by integrating multiple security technologies.
This led us to rebrand as the Authentication Solution Providers Association (ASPA) with a clear vision: to be the voice of the authentication and traceability solutions industry.
ASPA’s Mission and Growth
Our mission is to drive the development, promotion, and adoption of authentication and traceability solutions. ASPA operates under the guiding principle: Diverse Technologies, Common Goal, uniting various security solutions to combat counterfeiting. Today, ASPA has grown to 88 members, with a global outlook and an active Middle East chapter.
Four Pillars of ASPA’s Work
Awareness Campaigns – Educating consumers and brands through conferences, webinars, and public initiatives like V-Days.
Industry Partnerships – Collaborating with government ministries, industry chambers, and regulatory bodies.
Publications & Research – Producing reports like the State of Counterfeiting in India (2022), which has become a key media reference, developed in partnership with CRISIL.

Counterfeit News Repository—A searchable database tracking counterfeit incidents across industries to help regulators and brands target interventions.
Encouraging Industry Action
We actively engage with brands that are willing to tackle counterfeiting head-on. Mankind Pharma is a great example—they recognize the severity of counterfeit medicines and are proactively raising consumer awareness. Their leadership has worked closely with ASPA to understand authentication technologies and their role in tackling the issue.
