Background
UNDP Business and Human Rights in Asia
The UNDP Business and Human Rights in Asia (B+HR Asia) programme seeks to create pathways for sustainable and responsible business practices across Asia and the Pacific. We aim to promote human rights, strengthen accountability, and foster inclusive development.
The programme addresses interconnected priorities: strengthening partnerships between government, business and people; advancing value-based business models: facilitating shifts in social norms; and amplifying Global South perspectives to shape business and human rights discourse.
We do this through the following key actions:
Shape Inclusive Frameworks
Foster Collaboration and Coordination
Drive Business Action
Strengthen Capacities
Advance Excess to Remedy
Focus Areas

Business, Human Rights and the Environment
Human Rights Due Diligence
Gender -Responsive Business Conduct
Its Approach
The B+HR Asia programme combines a human rights-based approach with systems thinking to advance corporate respect for human rights. Through this holistic and intersectional lens, we aim to drive fundamental shifts in the business and human rights landscape.
This approach helps create the conditions to:
Address the root causes of business-related human rights abuses
Identify interconnections between different human rights and environmental impacts
* Promote systemic rather than siloed solutions
Ensure inclusive stakeholder engagement
