Excerpts of the presentation made by VP, ABRAPA (Cotton Brazil)
I think the best person to be here is a farmer. Célestino Zanella, he's a farmer. He's a vice president of Cabralto. He will share with you some important information about cotton production in Brazil. We have 10 states that produce cotton in Brazil, but the two biggest are Matagrosa and Baidu.
We are a small family of cotton producers, we have about 300, a little bit more families that work and produce cotton in Brazil. But we are a small family. We began its Nazi. I have more than five sisters and silent products.
And my history is the same history of the majority of Brazilian farms. And we began to produce cotton in 1998. And one of my sisters picked up cotton by hand to give food for her children. And I never, ever imagined that one day I would be in India to show him Brazilian cotton.
The average of the farms in Brazil for cotton is 6.5 thousand mts. And also we produce different things on the farm. We rotate with soybeans, corn, and corn medians. and someplace and other countries.
And also the farms in Brazil, in our farm, we protect normally, in my state, about 37% of the native vegetation. It's low in Brazil, 20%, plus close to the rivers and wetlands. This is very important for farmers in Brazil.
