Pakistan's choice to suspend all commerce with India, encompassing indirect channels via Dubai, will probably affect its own financial stability more profoundly.

Given Pakistan's considerable dependence on commercial exchange with its neighboring nations, securing alternative suppliers for crucial goods such as pharmaceuticals and organic chemicals could prove difficult.

Conversely, India's exports to Pakistan represent a minor portion of its overall export activities, totaling $455 million between April 2024 and January 2025, in comparison to India's total exports valued at $358.63 billion.

Unlocking India-Pakistan Textile Trade: Opportunities Await.

The textile trade between India and Pakistan presents an intriguing paradox. Despite both nations' significant global presence in the industry, their bilateral trade in textile and apparel goods remains limited, valued at $722 million in 2013, far below its estimated potential of $2.10 billion.

This restricted trade warrants investigation, especially given the sector's substantial contribution to their bilateral commerce.

5 Point Agenda for Indian T&A industry for year 2025-26.

As per the quick estimates released by the Ministry of Commerce, India’s exports of Textile & Apparel during Apr’24-Feb’25 stands at about US$ 33.2 bn which is about 7.2% higher than growth rate of similar period of last year.

Based on this it is estimated that India’s T&A exports are likely to reach about US$ 37-39 bn for the year 2024-25.
