While addressing a Press Conference on 100 Days performance of the Ministry in New Delhi earlier this week Union Minister of Textiles, Giriraj Singh alluded very convincingly stating that," The textiles industry will reach US$350 billion by 2030 as a seminal aspirational goal with a broader foundational purpose of creating crores of jobs in the process of this growth phase, emphasizing the 100-day achievements pave the way for accomplishing the stated targets by 2030 and reiterated the commitment of focusing on all aspects of the value chain of textiles sector."

Also, the ministry went on to set the seminal target of 50,000 metric tonne production in the long term, underpinning that cultivation of silk is an assured means to creating huge employment generation as around 1 crore people are connected with the sector knowing that India is the 2nd largest silk producer globally.
He also highlighted the fact that the Eri Sericulture Promotional Project launched in Gujarat will be taken Pan-India basis widening its scope and horizon and benefitting castor farmers in the journey.

On this occasion he also took the opportunity to announce PM MITRA (Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) Park, indicating a total projected outlay of Rs. 70,000 crore of investments leading to generating a staggering 21 lakh jobs.
It was a perfect note to promote Bharat Tex 2025 introducing it as a largest and biggest platform built around the 5Fs preamble Farm, Fibre, Factory, Fashion, Foreign to help India attract precious foreign investment (FDI) in the textile sector to facilitate Indian textile industry make global headlines achieving 4S – style, scale, skill, and sustainability leaving an enduring impact on Indian textile landscape.

Singh also delved into the facet of 'Vocal for Local' ethos of Indian manufacturing something very close to H'ble PM, Narendra Modi's heart, also drew the attention of the sector to merit of design for the textile industry and made a special mention of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) being @ heart and centre for the textile sector future progression, where he also made a profound reference to NIFT's recent vision and initiative of launching "VisioNxt" a proud Indigenous trend forecasting initiative set to fulfill fashion aspirations of the people of this country when we see India immensely opening up to the global marketplace/supply chains.

He further added that there is a myth that the textile industry is losing color instead, today we are in the best place to unlock the huge potential for technical textile in the country as it is used in multi-sectors and ministry has set a seminal export target of US$10 billion by 2030 as a visionary document.
Again Singh did not lose the opportunity to underscore the vitality of 1 crore artisans who are connected with the heritage handloom and handicraft sector and underlined the Ministry's mindful cognizance of the importance it enjoys in the entire textile value chain undertaking slew of initiatives to give an impetus to this sector.
It was a powered Press conference where H'ble textile minister was accompanied by Minister of State Pabitra Margherita, Textiles Secretary, Ms. Rachna Shah and other worthy senior officers of the Ministry were also present.
Road map for the future: Knowing your limitations
Today India is a country that is in a sweet spot and as a Government's foundational transformative and focused vision for the textiles sector, where in NDA 3.0 the government is at the top of the issue for creating more and more jobs.
Here it is to be outlined that the Ministry of Textiles (MoT) has already taken numerous initiatives during the first 100 days of this Government to underpin its deep commitment, encompassing holistically all the segments of the textile sector in its earnest to take textile industry to its rightful place as we move ahead.
