Each awardee exemplifies dedication, hard work and excellence. Your achievements go beyond individual success—they inspire others across the industry.
Knowledge, innovation and a strong link with agriculture remain critical to sustained growth in this sector. Having begun my own career as a manufacturer,
I share a deep association with the textile and apparel industry and fully understand its challenges, aspirations and potential.
During my tenure in Parliament, I had the opportunity to contribute to policy initiatives aimed at modernising the sector, including recommendations that led to the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS). These measures have enabled Indian textiles to modernise, improve competitiveness and stand strong in global markets.
Join our group
The textile and apparel industry has been a cornerstone of economic development worldwide and remains vital for India due to its unmatched capacity for employment generation, especially for women and unskilled workers. Despite geopolitical challenges and rising global competition, the sector continues to grow with strong government support through progressive policies, infrastructure development, skill initiatives and trade negotiations.
Free trade agreements (FTAs) are essential to sustaining export growth and creating new employment opportunities. I commend AEPC for its pivotal role as a bridge between industry and government—empowering small manufacturers to become global exporters and strengthening India’s presence on the world stage.
SUSTAINABILITY
With collective effort, innovation, resilience and care for our workforce,
I am confident that the Indian textile and apparel industry will overcome current challenges, achieve ambitious export targets and move steadily towards global leadership.
