The Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC), India's largest vocational training network for the apparel sector, is a registered society established under the aegis of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
Under the visionary leadership of Padma Shri Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman, AEPC, and the strategic guidance of Prof. Dr. Roopak Vasisth, Director General, ATDC, the institution has established a strong nationwide presence with more than 50 training centres across India. ATDC is committed to delivering industry-oriented skill development programmes that equip young people with job-ready skills, create sustainable livelihood opportunities, and strengthen the growth of India's apparel and textile industry.
As part of its ongoing commitment to skill development, ATDC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation (RIICO) in March 2026 to train 200 youth under RIICO's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The training programmes include Apparel Manufacturing Technology (AMT) and Production Supervisor Sewing (PSS).
To mark the launch of this initiative, an Inauguration and Toolkit Distribution Ceremony was organised at ATDC, Jaipur. During the event, toolkits were distributed to trainees to enhance their practical learning experience and improve their employability in the apparel industry.
Under this collaboration, four batches of the AMT programme comprising 100 candidates have been planned. The first batch of 27 trainees commenced training in May 2026, while the PSS programme for another 100 candidates is scheduled to begin in August 2026.
RIICO is fully sponsoring the training costs for all participants under its CSR initiative. Additionally, every trainee is being provided with a toolkit to support hands-on learning and facilitate a smooth transition into the industry.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Atul Sharma, Senior Deputy General Manager, RIICO, said:
"ATDC is doing commendable work in imparting industry-relevant skills and creating employment opportunities for the youth. Through this CSR initiative, RIICO is proud to partner with ATDC in strengthening the skilled workforce for Rajasthan's growing apparel sector."
