Bharat Tex 2026 Mobile App Launch Event – May 20, 2026
Attended and covered by Salil Chawla, Director, DFU Publications. Excerpts from the address of Ms. Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles The journey has been truly momentous. When the Honorable Prime Minister last graced us, he inaugurated this platform and placed us firmly on the global stage. His presence inspired buyers and sourcers alike, instilling confidence in India’s export vision. We are striving to nearly double our current production of $180 billion and expand exports almost threefold from today’s $35 billion. With strategic free trade agreements now clinched with the UK and EU, India is poised for an even greater journey—one that Bharat Tex, from July 14th to 17th, seeks to advance.
It is my pleasure to announce that our permanent exhibition space is already sold out, a clear reflection of exhibitors’ confidence. Despite global disruptions, inquiries continue to pour in from across countries, with embassies actively engaging to meet their expectations.
Bharat Tex welcomes all who wish to be part of this collective vision. It is our umbrella platform, unifying all textile export promotion councils and bringing together the entire 5F value chain—farm to fibre, fibre to yarn, yarn to fabric, fabric to garments—while embracing sustainability. India stands as one of the strongest recycling nations, processing over 90% of pre-consumer waste and a significant share of post-consumer waste through advanced textile facilities.
Our last BHARAT TEX was deeply focused on sustainability, and we continue to build on that momentum. This year, we will also showcase cutting-edge technologies, with artificial intelligence increasingly embedded in textile innovation. Many of these advancements will be visible across products on display.
We are also proud to introduce the Bharat Tex 2026 official mobile app. This strategic tool will empower exhibitors and buyers alike, offering intelligent access and unified engagement. Powered by AI, it will help buyers and sourcers pinpoint exactly what they need—for example, a specific yarn type—instantly revealing available brands and authentic suppliers. This digital-first outreach ensures measurable engagement and transparency.
