By 2030, every textile sold in the EU must be durable, recyclable, made largely from recycled fibres, and free from harmful chemicals. As part of this effort, the European Commission put in place the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles to promote sustainable and circular textile across the EU. These regulations will transform how manufacturers design, produce, and manage products across their entire value chain.
The inaugural ITMA Sustainability Forum, presented by CEMATEX to help manufacturers navigate the evolving sustainability landscape, was held on 30 October in Singapore.
With the Singapore Fashion Council as Programme Partner, the forum brought together EU policymakers, financial institutions, and industry leaders to discuss the regulations, sustainable innovations and solutions, and green financing opportunities driving circularity in the textile industry.
